Ciney, Belgium
Located in Ciney in the province of Namur, the 'Cabane du potager de la ferme de Linciaux' is an unusual, authentic, and romantic accommodation that offers all the necessary comfort for a timeless stay.
The Linciaux farm's motto is "Do less but well, beautifully and good". To do this, the Linciaux farm works in respect for the environment, animal and human well-being to produce quality products, all in short circuits.
One of the strengths of the Linciaux farm is the vegetable garden where they practice permaculture. The location was ideal for building a comfortable unusual accommodation, for couples to relax and reconnect with nature.
Arrival is self-service and after crossing the farm courtyard by car, we drive up towards the vegetable garden and stop our car in front of the large metal door giving access. We arrive at the end of a winter day and discover the beauty of the garden hut and its lights illuminating it at nightfall. We enter the hut and the coolness gives way to the gentle warmth of the wood stove lit before our arrival.
We discover the warm interior of the cabin and its layout. On our right, a small kitchen offers everything necessary to prepare small dishes. The wood-burning stove, which contributes to the authenticity of the place, is located next to the kitchen.
A large bathtub and a bathroom cabinet are arranged in a corner of the cabin as a bathroom opposite the bed. We find Belgian products for taking care of yourself and the planet, with Arlette shampoo from Bobone and a gentle soap from Savons d'Alice.
On the coffee table in the living room, an aperitif awaits us, featuring local products and homemade spinach-almond pesto. Most of the products offered at Linciaux farm cabin are local, and even very local, as we are fortunate to be able to enjoy produce directly from the garden and farm.
After enjoying the aperitif, we settle down at the table to enjoy the farm meal included in our reservation. This consists of a homemade butternut squash velouté that we warm up on the wood stove.
On the table awaits a grill/plancha, ready for cooking the meat and vegetables for homemade burgers made with produce directly from the farm and garden.
A bottle of wine and dessert are also included in the meal price.
After a delicious meal, we put on our bathrobes and brave the cold outside to reach the preheated Nordic bath before our arrival. The crackling of the logs heating the water, the smoke rising from it, and the starry sky make the moment magical. During the day, the latter offers a view of the permaculture vegetable garden.
After more than an hour in the Nordic bath, we return to the cabin to get ready for a good night completely relaxed. Paying attention to the smallest details, we discover that even the bedding is Belgian with organic bed linen from Kalani who offers fairtrade and natural products.
We wake up after a peaceful and restful night in the vegetable garden hut at the Linciaux farm. Once the wood fire is rekindled, which kept us warm for a good part of the night, we go to the entrance of the vegetable garden where the breakfast basket awaits us.
Homemade pastries, cold cuts, cheese and farm products, the delicious breakfast of the vegetable garden hut at the Linciaux farm has everything you need to satisfy lovers of savory or sweet breakfasts!
We enjoy one last good bath in this beautiful cabin and get our things ready before hitting the road and saying goodbye to this place that has given us a wonderful romantic moment.
