The Cabane Félicie, unusual accommodation in the Belgian Ardennes

La Cabane Félicie is a self-built accommodation by Élodie. After more than 8 months and fifty days of construction, Félicie came to life on a small plot of land facing the fields in Hatrival. Élodie's wish? That this pretty cabin become a place of disconnection and creation. A bet that, in our eyes, is more than successful!

After a few kilometers through fields and forest, we arrive at the small village of Hatrival. The wooden sign Cabane Félicie tells us we've arrived. Once parked in the designated spot, we discover this charming little unusual cabin nestled among the trees. Sunlight streams through the trees and the sky is a clear blue. We walk on the freshly damp grass (long live the Belgian showers) to the front door.

We turn the key and discover the cozy and optimized interior. We find a double bed (160cm wide) and a single mezzanine bed for the sleeping area. In the kitchen, there is a small sink, a double electric hob and all the essentials for cooking (dishes, spices, olive oil). And finally, a nice seating area with 2 large armchairs to read a book, chat, draw, or just dream.

Outside, from a practical point of view, there is a dry toilet in a cute little shed (with a lovely view of the trees) as well as a solar shower. On the doorstep, a small covered terrace, with 2 wooden armchairs, where we enjoyed pre-dinner drinks accompanied by the warmth of the last rays of the sun of the day.

In the garden, a wooden bench, a brazier and the feeling of being alone, in the heart of nature. Perfect for long summer evenings where you can warm yourselves by the fire after a hearty barbecue. And for the more adventurous among you, it will be the opportunity to roast some marshmallows.

After a very good night's sleep (the peace of the countryside suits us well), we wake up gently with the birdsong. We enjoy this beautiful sunny day and the last moments at the Cabane Félicie to have breakfast in the sun in the garden. We went to get our pastries at the Arnould bakery (recommended by Elodie) a few minutes drive from the tiny house.

This is how our stay at the Cabane Félicie in Saint-Hubert ended. A magical interlude that we prolonged by exploring the surroundings with a hike to the Roche aux Chevaux between the Our and the Lesse.
